Please note the following information this week:
1. Time is flying and we have only 8 week class leftover for 2012-2013 school year. In order to improve our educational programs and to provide better Chinese and Chinese culture education to our students, we’d like to hear comments or suggestions from you – our parents. The attached please find the survey form. Please take several minutes to answer the questions. If you have any additional comments or suggestions, please feel free to write it in the form. Your name is optional. It may help us feedback you if you can provide email or phone number. You can drop the completed form in the office or email to principal@fcdschool.org or yzw848@yahoo.com within 2 weeks. We appreciate your support and valuable time.
2. In this Saturday’s (4/20) education seminar Dr. Xin Geng will continue to talk about US medical education system. Once again, the seminar will start at the Cafeteria at 9:30AM.
讲座介绍：美国医学教育系统
美国医学教育系统和中国大陆、台湾，以及世界其它国家都不一样（只有加拿大与之类似），它有着独特的招生要求、课程安排、和毕业后的一系列再教育。只有详细了解了美国的医学教育系统，了解了学医的利与弊，才能更理智地帮助孩子选择今后的职业和专业，才能更有效地督促孩子报考医学院校，也可使家长们更方便和自己的医生打交道。
本次讲座，将介绍六个方面的问题：美国医学教育系统；学医的利与弊；什么样的孩子适合学医；怎样培养您的孩子喜欢学医；如何申请医学院校；除了医学院外还有哪些与医学有关的培训和专业。
医生是直接和人打交道的职业，需要精湛的技艺、广博的知识和助人为乐的精神。因此，要想做医生，尤其是想做一名好医生的话，就要从小培养孩子刻苦学习、吃苦耐劳、心地善良、知识面广泛、善于和人沟通等等。其实，具有了这些品质，即使今后不学医，而做了别的行业，无论做什么专业，都一定能够不负众望、成为一个成功之人的。
实际上，不是每个孩子都愿意学医，也不是每个孩子都适合学医。但是，作为家长，应该自己了解这个系统，并且帮助孩子也了解这个系统，才能让孩子做出理智的选择。
本讲座的目的就是通过事实的陈述和系统的分析，使尚不知道孩子今后学什么专业的家长了解美国的医学教育系统，判断自己的孩子是否适合学医；使那些今后希望学医的孩子的家长知道申请医学院校的基本程序，知道如何从小正确的培养孩子和安排好孩子的义务工作，并知道怎样指导孩子报考医学院校。
